IVA and university?

Afternoon folks

I’ve just had approval from my IVA practitioner to for student finance to allow me to attend college. I’ll be doing this along my current job role (wish me luck!) so no problem maintaining IVA payments.

The whole point of the course is to move onto University which is a full time course, but I’ve ran the figures (twice over!) and due to student loans/maintainable grants, child care grants, tax credits ect my income will remain the same doing a full time university course as what it will be for working the 25 hours I work now.

I’ve asked my IVA practitioner about university because without permission, it’s pointless doing the college course if that makes sense. No reply as of yet.

Just wondered if anyone here, knew where I stood? Considering I can maintain my IVA payments throughout university however, I will need further student finance.

Many thanks all

I think you should be OK as student finance won't be repayable during the life of the IVA (or, indeed, for some time after) and, if you qualify and get a better income during the IVA the creditors will get more back in the long run (potentially).
