My wife and I are in IVA and wife has been awarded a windfall of £2500 and we want to keep it but stepchange advises that we have to go to creditors to keep. Put proposal together any advice u can give me and also what outcomes have people got as can’t find anyone posting what happens next

Usually under the terms agreed a windfall belongs to the creditors. I have not come across an instance where creditors were asked to allow you to keep it. Sometimes an IP has used discretion to allow some to be retained for pressing reasons. I am as in the dark as you as to the possible outcome and will follow with interest.
The only advice I would give is to think of compelling reasons related to the condition for which the PiP was awarded.

PIP is paid to support someone who requires help and support through illness and every day living costs.
Therefore you will.need to evidence that during the PIP process and delay in payment you have had to financially support yourselves for the additional help and this payment simply goes to reimburse you.

The last poster asks a very important question - one which could considerably alter the experts' advice....
