Hi all, haven't posted for a while so thought I would update. Been hectic time, school holidays and holiday time (which was a welcome treat). Now made 4 payments into my via and seemed to be settling well. However with being away etc overspent a bit. Was a sobering reality when home, hence living to a very tight budget until payday. Showed me how easy it is to slip.......lesson learnt! Is a real learning curve but don't v regret my via decision. Life has become much simpler and I now sleep at night! Hope everyone ok, my best wishes to you all :D

"Simpler" is the first thing I felt life had become when I started my IVA --- almost like going back to an earlier time wher everything was cash and if we didn't have the money we didn't buy the goods :-)

Glad you are settling in -- the budgetting becomes second nature after a while -- when you get out the other end you won't be able to overspend !!!

That's so true foggy, should have followed my parents example when it came to money. We have had good weather and live close to norfolk coast so have had lots of beach days with picnic and chosen beaches with free parking! Am already looking up Christmas frugal tips! !

Well done - first Christmas is a challenge but if you start to prepare early you will be surprised what you achieve.

Glad you are doing ok - a tip for Christmas is to do online surveys (a bit late for this year) but you can earn enough points to get vouchers which you can use as gifts or get presents with them. It has funded my Christmas for a few years now.

Hi moira. Glad you have settled into your iva. Budgeting is what its all about but well worth it.... no more sleepless nights. It's 6 months since ours completed & I got our credit reports on Tues...... not a single default or anything on there about my iva or any previous debts. I never though I would get to this stage in my life after being in debt for 35, 000 pound six years ago. It's like a miracle..

I was thinking how you were doing recently and very happy to hear from you. I was very happy until today, but my purse been stolen from my WORK locker! And I had my 2 weeks shopping and electric money inside. I was crying all afternoon and gave stepchange a call didn't know how to make next payment. But they were so nice and sympathetic and told me to not to worry and gave me a month payment break which will be added to my Iva. I've mailed my crime ref number and it was done.
Apart from this I am doing quiet well..
it's been nice to hear from you.. xxx

So sorry to hear of the theft of your purse - I am hoping your employer is now reconsidering their security measures to help avoid further instances.
Pleased that your IP has been immediately supportive of your situation too.

Sorry to hear about your purse - hope they can find out who has stolen it. Good for Stepchange as well.

Thank you luluj.. unfortunately all they did to warn me not to come to work with valuables or large amount of cash!
I was very relief when stepchange was very sympathetic..
