As long as the scheme providers are happy with your credit history and the payments don't unduly affect your IVA payments it could work. You really need to get some figures in mind and discuss this with your IP.

Hi and welcome,

I agree with Foggy that you need to check things out first - how much would it impact on your IVA payments if it went ahead?

I lease a car through work (NHS salary sacrifice) as my car went to car heaven earlier this year. Aperture were happy for me to do this as long as my monthly IVA payments were not affected. I saved money on a new fixed rate mortgage with Halifax along with savings from car insurance, road tax, repairs etc aperture gave me a monthly budget of £190 and I got a Peugeot 108 for £170.00 pm :D

Me and my Mrs have Salary Sacrifice lease cars that come off my wage. I was in IVA and Mrs in DMP. My IP said that I needed a car to earn the money to pay my IVA and that it was a fixed payment including servicing, road tax and recovery therefore a regular outgoing and no unexpected bills for repairs etc. (As long as I didn't take the Mick getting a Roll Royce)

Over the duration of my IVA I had 4 lease cars and there was never any problem.

the added bonus was that because the car is deducted from your wage at source there was no advance payment and more importantly no credit check
