Difficulty in getting information changed by Cabot Financial.our IVA completed March 2016 CC received June 2016. My husband died in September and I have looked up my credit rating to find that all debts are marked settled or partially settled except for Cabot financial still showing red defaults. This was a credit card debt they purchased one year after my IVA began, and they have sent me regular statements sowing the amounts they have received from the I P. I rang them up to ask why they did not have it noted as at least partially settled and after much waiting was told the debt was not part of the IVA and they would be getting in touch with my IP, this has made me very worried at an already difficult time, what can I do now?.

Tell Cabot to do one!!! It would have been included! Speak to your IP and tell them that you need this sorted asap as it is very distressing for you. Get them to get in touch with Cabot otherwise you will escalate this further and you can tell Cabot that as well.

I have a friend who had a similar situation to yourself and she did manage to get it all sorted with the help of her IP.

Cabot are renowned for trying this on -- they are bound by the IVA and the debt no longer exists. Ask your IP to intervene, otherwise complain to the ICO.
