Had a phone call the other day about claiming back money from banks regarding paying for a bank account(ie monthly charge)

I hate cold callers, and no way I give my details to a cold caller anyway, but its got me thinking

I got my CC in March and all my PPI(apart from the stat interest) has gone to my IVA, so not too bothered about that. But I did have an account that I paid for, for years, that the bank made me have, even when I argued that I didnt want it!

Would I be offside trying to claim, should I tell my old IVA company that I going to claim?

I am afraid that managed account refunds are in the same boat as PPI refunds and should be payable into the IVA.
I would wait a couple of months to see how the current appeal case pans out. Although it is specifically about PPI, the same, I would think, applies ... same boat !

It also depends on when the account was taken out. We had one with HSBC and contacted one of these companies and were told that we couldn't claim as it was out of time.

I agree with Foggy - wait and see the outcome of the wright v greene case and if it's in favour of the debtors then you may as well make a claim...
