Having finished our IVA nearly 3 years ago !! Do we need to need to tell lenders that we were in a IVA when applying for the mortgage ?
We would be now in the position to put a fairly good deposit on the new house ?

Hi,

Have a word with either Shaun or Ryan (details under the expert link on the left hand side of the page) and give them a call - they have helped a lot of posters on here get a mortgage.

Appears to be a duplicate posting will lock one and link answers in to this post to avoid confusion.

Hi, it would depend on whether they ask the question, don't volunteer the information, just be honest if they ask. Shaun and Ryan who are our forum expert mortgage guys, may be along to offer you more detailed advice. If you want to have a word with them their contact details can be found in ask experts a question link to the left and then scroll down.

As Lesley explains the wording of the question is key here. If asked have you in the past .... the answer would be yes. If the question was Are you currently ... the answer would be no.
The use of a broker such as Ryan or Shaun will ensure you get this answer right and an appropriate lender is found.

Hi John
There is no reason to be underhand with this.
We have helped many posters on the forum obtain mortgages at high street interest rates, with lenders who accept people who have had an IVA.
