My Iva completed in Sept 15 and I received my certificate in November.

While trying to clean up my credit file I notice not one of the companies involved in my Iva have lodged the correct date with the credit reference agencies with some of my default dates listed over a year after my iva started.

This has seriously disadvantaged me as I have had two car finance applications fail as they still show on my credit record.

How can this be allowed to happen?

I have contacted these companies but there is one company I can't identify as it appears my debt was bought over during the Iva.

What can I do?

Also another is listed as part settled as opposed to settled. Why is this allowed to remain on file?

Be aware just because you are free of your iva the nightmare lingers on afterwards cleaning up a credit file seems nigh on impossible and very slow.

How have others dealt with these issues please?? I think my advice to anyone entering an Iva is immediately contact companies and credit ref agencies at your I as inception and inform them of your acceptance date and have these records amended asap and not to wait Til u receive your completion certificate.

Hi and welcome,

Are your six years up? If not then the IVA will certainly still show on your record but you can contact the companies defaulting you and ask them to remove those defaults back to your start date.

Check on your completion details to see who has been paid out - if you can't find them then speak to your IP.

You could write to the data controller of the firm who bought the debt as I believe they will have to remove the defaults.

Yes it was a six year Iva

But disappointed that even thought it's complete its not over because your credit file is inaccurate

Surely those companies who provided inaccurate information must be liable for causing me unnecessary stress and worry

Just send your CC to those creditors and get them to update their records accordingly.

For the debt that was sold on ask your IP who it was sold to - they will almost definitely have the details and the creditor would have told them so they could receive any dividends.
