Hi all.
My F&F was agreed with last payment made to my IVA in October. I am not sure what the procedure is now as I have heard nothing from my IP. I still had two years to run on my IVA so cannot get credit etc. until 2018 but will I get my completion certificate before 2017 or when my IVA should have finished? Thank you

Hi,
You should have your certificate within a short time after completing.
Which company are you with? You need to push them.

Hi Kallis, Thank you for replying. I am with Cleardebt. What does my certificate actually mean and will it help me if I want to rent. At the moment I am renting but can't move because I am in an IVA and no-one seems to want to rent to someone in an IVA

David Mond from Cleardebt posts on here and I am sure he'll chase up your completion certificate. Have you had to sign a Deed of Assignment as part or your F&F? Just wondering if that could be a delay?
Your IVA will remain on your credit file along with any defaults for 6 years from the start date so your credit reference is shot til then. I do believe some landlords are more tolerant if you have a larger deposit which you could get from saving your iva payments.
Hope you get sorted.

Thanks relieved33. I will chase this up then. I realise it will make no difference to my credit rating but thought that maybe if I could prove it was completed it might help. Not to worry, I can wait a bit longer to move!

Unusual for a delay like this with this company especially given the work they do to get f&f accepted.

Chase up your IP and ask for an update on their progress with closing your IVA. Some can take up to 6 months so maximum should be April time as long as there are no outstanding material issues to deal with.

Dear dipsy,
I’m sorry if there has been some confusion.
Please e-mail me (
david.mond@cleardebt.co.uk) with your details and I will arrange for your case manager to contact you with an update.
Kind regards,
David
