Hi,
I seem to be getting into email wars with GT regarding the interest refund on PPI that was claimed. We finished out IVA in April, the PPI was completed around that time as well.
We had both signed the spotty letter etc and last May we were even sent an email stating how much the refund was for and stating that it would be paid to use within 9 weeks. Since then nothing arrived so I began emailing them every few weeks for an update.
They say there is an unforeseen problem and we are on the high priority list and will get paid the refund when the problem is sorted out. They do not state what the problem is.
What I cannot believe is that if they can tell me how much etc why cant they just write a Cheque out. I can only assume the problem is no one can find a pen to sign it.
Has anyone ever received these mythical refunds from GT, I am not in desperate need of the cash but as we were promised it it would be a nice bonus to receive. We were told to expect £962.

If they can't tell them what the problem is state that from today you will start charging them interest - the problem is probably since they rebranded etc. that staff can't actually find out anything from the system.

Ask them for a written explanation as to the 'unforeseen problem' and if their reasoning is not satisfactory consider making a formal complaint.

I did email them back stating I wanted to make an official complaint etc, to receive within an hour of me emailing an reply stating they were now in a position to make the refund payment but needed my bank details etc. I replied straight away and again received a quick reply saying the money would be in my bank within 14 working days. The power of the threat of a complaint
I will await the 14 working days and see what happens. I am not going to believe anything until it arrives.

Ha that's amazing (although you shouldn't have needed to resort to that to get the right outcome). Hope you get the money soon - let us know?

Hi Marksam1,
glad to hear that the payments are real then, I was beginning to think they were like Father Christmas and the tooth fairy, you know they are there but never see them

So that is a lovely Christmas present and now I feel we can get on with the rest of our lives, everything from our IVA is now complete and finished with.Have a wonderful Christmas peeps and a Happy, Healthy and debt free New Year, isn't it lovely to not have to worry about the January post, even after the 5 years of our IVA I still get a thrill knowing that.

Sharon.10,
Try what I did I emailed and gave them 1 month to give me proper timescales etc or I was putting in an official complaint, after that month I had not received anything so I sent an email saying I was making an official complaint and within 2 days received the reply that it would be paid within 14 days, but I did know ours was complete as they had stated months ago how much we would be getting etc.

Lisa I finished paying my iva in 2012 and they only started investigating it in the last 6 months of that year it's taking nearly 4 years to sort out they should have all the ppi by now but I have just received another ppi from barclays last month for £487.84 which will be given to the iva so another long delay I have emailed them and I am waiting for them to get back to me.
