A little bit of news; I've had my F&F offer accepted! The money has been paid and now, all being well, I'm just waiting for the CC.

It still feels a little surreal to be honest. I had about two years left to run so to be free at this stage is wonderful and unexpected. I was able to combine the savings I'd made from my 50% of uplift payments with a chunk of cash from a family member.

Wherever you are in your IVA journey, hang in there and stick with it. I still believe it's the best decision I ever made to admit I'd ****ed up and that I needed to sort things out.

Thank you to many of you who've given advice and help over the years, this place has been invaluable and I'm very grateful for the community here.

Today I was finally able to hit the 'reset' button. Today my life began again.

Congratulations. I agree the feeling is quite surreal. I sent the funds for mine and my wife's F&F's yesterday. I also agree that it was the best thing we did once we finally accepted that we were in the s***. However, if it had not been for this site I am not sure what we would have decided to do. The advice a d support is quite incredible. Like you we had 2 years left to run and so to be able to finish the IVA's at this stage is fantastic. Thank you to everyone who has provided support, guidance and encouragement.

The fact that you used some of your share of overtime, bonuses and commission to offer a F&F shows it can be done. This counters the rubbish put about by some IP firms that you cannot do this and you cannot even save! We have had clients do the same thing in the past and well done.

Well done thisusernameistaken.

I can't for a minute imagine that feeling of having been sentenced to 5 years and then given early release, really really pleased for you.

Onwards and upwards, let's see if a new record can be set in terms of completion to receipt of certificate.

I echo your sentiments on this forum, the posters representing firms and those who have lived the experience give a real life expectation on what to expect over the term and what to watch out for.

Something tells me this could be a Good Friday night !![8D][:D]

Thanks all, and congrats also to Mikey - I know exactly how you're feeling right now mate, well done on your F&F too!

longslog - mine was a 6-year (NRAM) so even longer! Am hoping the CC is swift so I can correct the credit file - the start dates of the defaults are a little varied, I want them all aligned to the start date of the IVA to make sure the 6 years co-terms on them all.

I'm really looking forward to moving on with life having learned a hard and valuable lesson.

Well done so pleased for you it does feel great to be done we had our F&F offer accepted in june this year got our CC 11th September had to wait due to a couple of creditors not claiming so had to give them notice to claim or loose out. As you say the advice on hear is & was invaluable do not think we would have finish our IVA early if not for this forum my hat is off to all who give advice on here.[8D]
