Are there any high street banks that will accept applicants with an iva?

I have been able to open a Danske Bank Current Account while in IVA.

Problem with Danske Bank is that there are very few branches available to people in the UK. I have just googled my postcode and there is nothing.

Danske is NI based - they do not allow applicants from England.

I tried opening an account online as an experiment - can't get past the first page if you have a UK post code:(

Ooops wasn't even thinking when I said Danske Bank, they were previously Northern Bank which was only NI.

I'd try any bank except HSBC. I have switched accounts several times whilst in the IVA. I opened new basic accounts with Lloyds, Santander, Halifax. All were my creditors at the beginning of the IVA. Also opened new accounts with the Co-operative bank and Metro Bank but these weren't creditors in my IVA. I was always lucky

HSBC do not want to know you if you're in (or just out of) an IVA.

Barclays will. You need to go to a main branch and apply there. I was welcomed while still in my IVA, the lady who processed my application could not have been more helpful. I told her I was in an IVA prior to my appointment, she said that it will no difference to opening a basic account.
