So as you know, I got approved for my iva! Still smiling about!
I set up a new select account with natwest in January. I just got an email saying that I had set up a basic account? Would they downgrade me for being in an iva? I wasn't paying anything for the account in the first place?

Hi -- yes many banks will downgrade to a basic account due to an IVA ( if and when they notice). Some banks close accounts completely !

Hi
Lucky for you they have not given you notice to close your account.
At least you can carry on as before

It's a shame NatWest changed as they were an IVA friendly bank before as I always had the select account unless I just slipped through the net unnoticed.

We are with Natwest and had an Advantage Gold account prior to the Iva. Following a discussion with our branch manager on entering the Iva they were happy to leave account running and have monitored it ever since so we still have an Advantage Gold account.
Our local branch could not be more helpful and supportive of our situation.

When we entered our iva we changed from Halifax to nat west with an advantage gold account. All has been well so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way
