I finished my IVA in September 2012 after 6 years. I want to move house so I applied for my credit file. I was shocked to see that it shows my iva was removed in November 2012. Why does it still show up? Surely if you have completed successfully your record should be wiped clean. I am worried that I won't be able to get a mortgage as I have been told by a mortgage adviser that companies won't consider anyone who has been in an IVA. Does anyone have any advice or experience of a new mortgage post iva thanks

Where is it showing up? It should fall off the files at 6 years (assuming you have the completion certificate). Are you still on the insolvency register ?
The mortgage adviser you spoke to is totally wrong. We have two advisers who regularly post here who have both helped quite a few ex-IVA'ers get mortgages.
Their contact details can be found under the "Ask a Question" tab (top left) and scrolling down to the experts details section. You are looking for Ryan and Shaun.

It appears under notice of correction on my Equifax credit report. I thought that once you had your certificate of completion it wAs all over but obviously not. I want to go to a normal high street lender I don't want to end up paying high interest rates and struggling. Has anyone else still got their completed iva on their credit file?

Equifax routinely enter a notice of correction on your credit file.
Just contact them an request that they remove it and they will instantly.

The Notice of Correction was entered by them in an attempt to be helpful bu showing that the IVA, when it was on file, was completed. They will remove it on request.
The mortgages Ryan and Shaun can provide needn't be at high interest rates. However, if you keep approaching High Street Lenders each will record a search on your file and eventually these searches alone will destroy your chances. You might get lucky and hit on a supportive lender right away, but, you might not.

If it's the EQuifax entry they will remove as soon as you request it, assuming all is finalised with IVA.

That Iva entry on CF should all go after 6 years and no reference ever to it been there.
I would flip if I saw a notice of correction about it.Lenders are very very sensitive to it for right wrong even after finishing it.It is an indelable past.
It takes time for it to have 'no affect on you' like a drug affect wearing out.It is achievable.
I said this before very adamantly so a'recent Iva history' will affect you but it is not 4ever.
Relying on specialist brokers for the rest of our life's is just not what is wanted surely and paying a fee for them to look up a loan for you when everyone else doesn't have to.
There is light at the end of a long tunnel.Debt free and bygones be bygones.
