Hi Guy's

I had a job interview on friday. Im a security guard and the job was at a Financial data services. The interview went great im confident i will be offered the job but they said they will do a employee history check on me including a Credit Check. They asked briefly if i had been bankrupt of had any ccj's which i havn't so said no.

Anyone know if the IVA will have any obstructions on the offer of employment? Im so nervous they will come back and say "Due to the IVA" we cannot offer you a job here"

Obviously the job is a financial company as i say i would be doing security in the building.

Thanks.

Probably because no-one knows the answer !

My first thoughts are that you answered the question correctly .. but ( there's always a "but") ... hopefully the interviewers know the difference between BR. CCJs and an IVA. If not they will consider your reply dishonest.

If that is the case let's hope they give you the chance to explain the error of their ways.

Last year I changed jobs and in my second interview it was brought up that I would be required to undergo a credit check as I work in finance. I was honest, and immediately told the interviewer that I was in an IVA. They were really understanding and I was ultimately offered the job regardless of my IVA.

I think I would inform them of the IVA and explain the differences to them .... you have answered honestly but the credit check will flag the iva up.

Sometimes we don't reply as Foggy says we don't know the answer and other times we try and leave it or an expert to comment on. However, all posts are generally replied to within 24 hours as I for one generally go through them and comment to bump them up for the attention of others, I don't think there are many we have missed over the duration of the forum.

I do hope it works out well for you and I do think maybe if they're mentioning credit scores etc., honesty may be the best policy.

Definitely tell them about the IVA and explain what it means. Let us know how you get on and good luck!
