Hi all
I've been a bit quiet these last couple of months ( although checking in every now & then) as quite frankly I was pretty fed up with the whole IVA thing.
Rose tinted spectacles are well & truly off now as I have faced up to the reality of the fact that we will never be able to jump back on the property ladder to own our own home. We will never be able to save up a 10-15% deposit in time as age is not on our side.
I can safely say an IVA is not an easy option to deal with your debt but is " do-able" . Having a reputable firm is probably key.
There are soo many things that you don't think of when you are first looking into an iva & then when your're in it- BUT this forum provides in some way all the relevant info needed,,so is a fantastic source of info.
We are officially on the road to a brighter future. Our credit files are all clean...& green
Our past financial anarchy will always stay with me. Mistakes made lessons learned - the hard way.
it has taken from December 2007 until now june 2014 to be in control.
In another post ,Melanie mentioned something about " financial rehabilitation" - she is not wrong!
Hindsight is a marvellous thing but what have we learned? I shall impart an old bible proverb with you all & hope you will reflect on it as I have-
Proverbs 22 verse 7 :
THE RICH ONE RULES THE POOR, AND THE BORROWER IS SLAVE TO THE LENDER
Many thanks to you all out there who have shared your advice on this forum & to those of you starting out & still ploughing through- good luck xx
