Hi There,

I completed my IVA in August last year, and after months of waiting for my completion certificate, Kingsgate informed me it'll be with me by the end of the month.
Q1. Could you recommend any companies that do Car Loans with people just coming out of IVA. (I spoke to Moneybarn last year who recommended that it'll be easier to get a loan once my completion certificate comes in).
Q2. Once my completion certificate comes in, who would I need to contact apart from the Insolvency Service, that I am now debt free.

If your IVA finished after 5 years your credit file may well be cleared up in August so it could be worth waiting until then since you will not get your certificate for another month anyway.

It may be worth speaking to a car dealer as they make money from car sales and selling the loans so it would be in their interest to source the loan.

If you can hang on wait till your credit file is clear of your IVA n defaults. Then you can punt around for best deal for both the car and %APR you'll probably get regular credit which will sit well on you nice new clean CR

I agree, if you can wait let the IVA drop off in due course and clean up those credit files you CAN get high street credit.

My IVA finished last February 13, I received my certificate April 13. I left it until April 14 to apply for car finance and was accepted with Barclays, had the car just a week now and I am very happy that I waited.

Same as Lesley ... Let it all clear from your credit file before applying for high street finance. It you can't wait then moneybarn are an option (i have used them) and they do support ex iva customers really well.
