i have a joint iva we are about three years in to it.a year ago my wife walked out on me she has left me with the morgage the secured loan on the property and the iva she is not paying one single penny to any of the above every thing is in joint names how can this be fair the reason i had to apply for an iva is that she racked up 11 thousand pounds on credit cards which tipped us over the edge i just cannot believe i have to all this debt i feel trapped i cant move on this just is not fair.

Hi Robert. Have you informed your IP of the separation and the current situation?

Hi Robert, Welcome to the forum. There is help out there for you. We are all hear to listen and advise so please don't think you are alone. As Foggy has suggested, speak with your IP they are very understanding and will reassure you.
Life is very good at dealing us a bad hand, your doing the right thing asking for advice.

I might add that mine went about the same time as yours and my IP was a real source of help, encouragement and advice -- well Karol, the then customer services manager and a few of her colleagues to be precise.

So sorry to hear about your circumstances, Robert. It must be gutting to be the one left taking all the responsibility for the IVA. Are you managing to make the contractual payments, despite your irritation and having to?
