It is Really doing my head in now, today when I got home from work I had a nice letter from the Halifsx banks solicitors demanding payment or they will take me to court in 14 days. My iva was approved in December last year I have been told by my Ip company(Harrington Brooks) that I will not get any more contact from them since 23rd Jan but still im getting calls and increasingly nasty letters, now 1 from there solicitor. I am constantly telling the creditors that I have an iva and all they say is they have not been updated, the ip keeps telling me that the creditors have all been told and it should calm down.im going round in circles. What shall I do ,ignore it till it rights itself ?? my partner is terminally ill ,she has MND and has I limited time left so I really don't need this!!.starting to think it would have been better to go bankrupt instead of the iva.

Sounds like the collections process hasn't stopped yet. I very much doubt they'll take you to court if they do you'll have the last laugh as the judge won't be impressed with them

On a practical note just keep forwarding the letters to your IP, you don't even really need to read them for the most part, it's your IPs problem

Believe your IP Brad, you are secure from any action the Halifax threaten. Just ignore the letters from any creditors listed in your IVA agreement. You need to concentrate on being the support for your partner and file these letters in the shredder before it makes you ill with worry.

Just pass them on to your IP to deal with. As said, if it went to court they would get an earful from the judge for harrassing you and also wasting the court's time. Courts have, in the past, written off debts for this sort of thing.

It is possible that they are just late catching on -- these things do take a while to filter through the system. But that is not your concern.

Just totally ignore them, nothing they can do as your IVA is in place.Your partner is far far more important.

Just open the letters snigger and file them away in a place called shredder.

It is so irritating when creditors take so long to update their records, but as others have already mentioned this type of chaser has no substance so it is best ignored - or better still passed on to your IP to deal with for you.
