I finished my last payment for IVA in March 2013 but have still not been given certificate as they say they are pursuing PPI. I was made redundant and have had to go self employed as I'm over 60 and no-one will employ me. I have started a limited company no problems but I can't seem to get a business account. I have been paid into a second personal account (I'm using it for business transactions only) but now the people who I'm contracted to have said that they cannot pay money into my account (even though they have done it for the last 10 months). What can I do to:
1 expedite the closure of the IVA
2 open a business account

You need to speak to your own IP about closure as each firm has a different approach. Advise them of your situation and hopefully they can speed things along.

Once the IVA is over it should be easier to get an account for your limited company but it may be worth speaking to your own bank who have allowed you to open two accounts already.

You may struggle to get a High St business account whilst the IVA is on your credit record, however there are some card based business accounts that you should be accepted for, hopefully another poster can give further details
