I am in an iva I was made redundant last year and had a 1 months payment break then got a job, Im now in my 4th year of payments I have only missed the one payment,i was put on short time hours in jan then 1 week later was finished I have asked for a payment break as the iva had a provision for up to 6 months of payment breaks, but ive been told I can only use that option once which was used for the month I missed last year, ive been told I can apply for a 6 month extention if the creditors agree, but if I get a job I have to make the payments as extras and still contine with the extra 6 months payments. is this right anyone got any ideas what I can do.

Hi

Well you cab certainly have another payment break and yes any missed payments are normally added onto the end of your IVA

Speak with your IP again and good luck on the job front

They are talking rubbish. Ask to speak to somebody more senior who knows what they are talking about.

I am with payplan and when my car needed some work - they allowed me to have 2. I had to add the cost of these on top of my monthly amounts (thanks Mum!! for the extra cash) they wouldn't let me add it to the end of the plan - but it helped me at the time
