Unfortunately in my case I did pay monthly with very high interest and also not all insurance companies accepted me from credit checks.

I ended up paying nearly £200 car insurance per month. So £2400 over a year.

Mind you I live in a very high risk area so that could also be a contributing factor.

Hi,

I paid monthly when I was in an Iva but you do pay a bit more, however after my Iva I found out about cashback sites. I now get about 70 back for buying insurance.

I hope this helps :)

I had difficulties at first using the comparison sites getting monthly terms so in the end I phoned LV and they said yes and I've had no problems since. LV are also very competitive!!

I have always paid monthly whilst in my IVA I have been insured with Swinton and a twice with Onecall. I haven't paid over the odd for it either. Just shop about as you would if you weren't in an IVA. Good luck

Hi

I think in general it is not going to be a problem, as others have said always shop around for any insurance renewal, it is amazing how prices can differ

I had pay monthly with asda while in my IVA very reasonable except large deposit every year. Changed last year to Hastings direct, however they would not accept monthly payments. Time for me to change shortly so will just be looking about as usual to find the best deal

Hi,
We are with Hastings direct and have had no issue with monthly payments?
I think with some company's if you pay in full for the first year and then renew with them the monthly payments are a standard offer.

My first year was £1500, renewal was £2883!!!

I was stuck as they were the cheapest renewal based on monthly payments.

Maybe hard to believe but this is what I'm paying for a whole year.
