Hi,
I'm about to contact my IP regarding a F&F. It will be to offer all remaining months x monthly payment - so I assume it will be accepted. Hope so anyway!
So I can offer a final figure, & it takes a couple of months to sort I believe, can I propose to cease monthly payments as of now(with the provisio I make it up immediately should the offer be rejected)?
Thanks

You can certainly propose that, or make an offer that is three months short (the reasons for which should be explained in the variation).
I did a F&F on grounds of unaffordable payments and ceased payments while the F&F was put to creditors by taking an agreed payment break -- the effect of which would have been to add the missed payments on at the end if it was refused.
As luck would have it they accepted

Hi
Think carefuly about stopping payments unless they are unaffordable at present
Good luck

Hi,
Thanks for the input.
Andy, why would that be an issue to stop payments? This would mean we could be crystal clear on the payment offered. Knowing my IP, if I say deducted 2 months from the offer, it could take them 4 months to process it - they are not the quickest.
I'm just trying to make it as straight forward as I can. As I say, if the offer was rejected, although as its full payments at present rate I cannot see why it would be, I'ld simply re-imburse the fund.
Thanks

Hi
Take advice from your own IP on this matter, you could work it the other way and reduce the sum offered by the payments made during the full and final offer process.

Thanks Andy - yes, I'll agree all up front first with my IP. I won't stop anything unilaterally - don't want to mess it up now!
Thanks again.

Well - submitted the initial detail to kick things off by email - confirming offer of full monthly payments, plus the additional year, and asking what I need to do next. 3 days later not even had an acknowledgement. Good start!

Hoping that you hear something very soon, if not drop them another email and request a read receipt maybe.

Well, 3 emails & 3 phone calls (only 1 of the calls answered) later, & a week & a half on from the initial contact - not a dicky bird.
Oh how I love my IP!
