Hello all I had my DRSP (PPI Claim) appointment back in March and last month made my final payment into my IVA (yippee!) but unfortunately they cant send me my completion certificate until the PPI claims have been completed (boo) I've heard that it could take another year or so...I've been told that i cant get a mortgage until at least 1 year after i receive my completion certificate , so this PPI claim could put my life on hold for another 2 years - i understand why they have to do this, but is very frustrating! I have worked very hard during my IVA, almost doubling my wage, Is there no other way i can get a mortgage before i get the certificate?

Hi Kahlan - congrats on your last IVA payment! The delays from PPI claims can be frustrating - not all companies hold off issuing the certificate before the claim is complete but unfortunately sounds like your does. Have a chat with them to see if there is any way of brining this forward. For mortgage advice you could contact one of the two mortgage advisors on here via the Ask experts a Question link to the left.
Keep us posted and best wishes moving things forward.

Thanks so much for your response. They have pretty much made it clear that it may be some time before I get the PPI answers due to the amount they have to do. I have spoken to one of the experts on this forum who have said that they cant do anything until I get the certificate. I guess ill jusst have to keep my fingers crossed unless anyone can advise?
