Hey all, I'm new to this forum, I've been on an iva with freeman jones for almost 6 months, all is going well so far. My iva is for 5 years and I was told in 6 years I would be debt free, I've heard so many bad reviews and stories about people's ivas being dragged out unknowingly and it has really started to make me worry.. An iva definitely seemed like the right option for me, now just worried there will be no end? Is it really as straight forward as they make it out to be? Or is there loopholes everywhere to keep you sucked in?

If you are in any doubt about how your own IVA will run into the future, then you should contact your IP directly. A well presented IVA, where a good relationship exists between IP an client, ought to always finish on time - unless there are good reasons for this not to happen - eg arrears of contributions or uplift payments.

If I'm honest, I have no clue who my IP even is! I haven't had much contact from them since my IVA got accepted apart from a lady who rang me to make sure I was happy with all the preposal and a call a couple of weeks back from think to claim.. I must have a 6 monthly review coming up next month so maybe I'll get a phone call then and can maybe talk it through again x

Hi debtFree2018 - welcome to the forum
Have faith in your company and the proposal you put forward. Sometimes reading too much on the internet can unnerve you and make you question your decision but if everything felt like the right way forward at the time and you were given time to make a considered decision then it was the right thing to do.
It seems from Sarah's post that FJ are addressing this for you so hopefully your concerns will be alleviated. We're all here to support you along the way and its great having Sarah on to pick things up directly for FJ clients.
