Hi, I finally got my completion certificate earlier this year, but now I have received 2 forms from Barclays Bank with a letter saying I have complained about 2 mis sold PPIs. As far as I am aware I never had PPI with any loans. The forms are asking me what I am complaiing about and what is the account number to which the claim refers. I havent a clue, as my original IVA was taken out in 2006 and I havent kept any records of any debts I passed to Grant Thornton. Do I need to sent these forms back to Barclays or can I just ignore them as I havent a clue what they refer to? Thanks

Are you sure that the claims have not been generated by your IVA company or whoever now holds the debt?

Sounds like GT strike again..GT accessed my credit file and I had letter from a company called EIC with ever last creditor on it they even tried to make me claim agenist a mobile phone contract that's how thick they are...well on one hand it's good it's being dealt with now and not at the end of the iva so touch wood I won't be like a lot of people on here and getting sucker punched at the end

It took 2 years from my final payment to receive my certificate. Surely if I have my certificate then the case is closed?

The IVA might be closed, but the PPI existed during it's lifetime and is therefore considered an asset of the IVA, so the IP is going after it!

So in your opinion, I should fill in the forms as best I can and return them? If so, can anyone give me GT's phone number as I need it on the forms. Thanks

Personally I would just pass the forms to GT to do with them what they will --- you are not likely to benefit, so why should you do any of the work ?

To be honest I do feel that it is bad of GT to institute investigations without the courtesy of informing you. Had that have been me I would have treated it like any spam mail and shredded it !

Sharon, did you have a 'policy number of the payment protection insurance you are complaining about'for the Barclays form? Thats the one thing I havent got as it was over 7 years ago

It is indeed very rude and surely wrong? Unless you've given them authorisation to act on your behalf?

To be honest theyve rang so many times and done PPI questionnaires over the phone (each time I said I couldnt remember ever having taken PPI) There were even 2 companies I'd never dealt with (Avon Cosmetics being one - I didnt know they did PPI!) They said they had to pursue it, then I receive 2 forms from Barclays. Am going to fill them in with GTs contact details (if I can find their phone number) and return them to Barclays

I don't blame you and I'm sure the phone number will be online somewhere for you to find. x
