Hi all,

I finally recieved my cc today after 6 years, 2 months and 19 days locked in an iva with Payplan. I have to say that, despite that ridiculous and rather alarming issue about the possibility of being made bankrupt if the creditors refused to agree another 12 months in lieu of equity, Payplan have been a great company to work with. It was pretty smooth most of the time. Thanks especially to my long-serving case officer Elliott Cresswell who was always very helpful and good to deal with.

I have benefited greatly from this forum in terms of both advice and support, especially from the seasoned posters such as Kallis and Foggy, and others too numerous to mention, but all equally as helpful, and I thank you all sincerely for that.

Like many of us, I have also benefited from and been reassured by the advice of the resident experts who come on here in their own time to offer their knowledge and counsel. I think Mel Giles, Michael Peoples and Andy Davie are an absolute credit to their profession, and I thank them very sincerely as well as all the others.

What a journey. Lesson learned. Taking the iva route was tough but not as tough as it could have been; and the end result is well worth it. So those of you who are still in arrangements, stick it out, I know it's hard, been there, got the t-shirt etc., but it's by far the best solution in many cases (and in those cases, the best solution in all respects) and its such a feeling of relief and satisfaction when you reach the end. You learn a lot about yourself and those close to you along the way.

I log into the forum most days to see what is going down and just because my iva has finished I'm not going to stop doing that. I'll continue posting if I have any informed advice to give or experiences to share. Sometimes it is the empathy and the feeling that you are not alone on that journey that is the most important thing. So thank you one and all, and keep going forward, there is a big bright light at the end of that tunnel.

Right now, however, I'm going to the pub.

Bryn

Great post, Bryn .. so glad it has all worked out. Great to hear that you will be sticking around. You have a wealth of experience to share as and when the need arises and I am sure you will be an inspiration to those about to or just having started the journey.

Enjoy that well earned pint ( just the one, Mrs Wembley ? )

Well done - posts like this always encourage 'new IVAers'.

I too like to stick around to keep me on the straight and narrow as once our IVA was complete and off the insolvency register the letters offering credit started arriving - they make a good fire starter though for winter!!

Thank you all very much for the good wishes. Kazzafunk, lesley and Skippy, you were all very helpful in different ways to me in the past with advice and support, particularly over that lunatic bankruptcy issue.

Hi brokebryn,

Thank you for your comments and a hearty congratulations to you. :-)
I will pass on your praise to the IVA department.

Good luck for all your future endeavors!
(Did I spot you were going to treat yourself to a strat? - V. jealous!!)

Hi Samuel, Thank you very much, and yes, please pass on my appreciation to the IVA department, especially to Elliott and the closures team for expediting the process. Yes, I am going for an American classic strat, three colour sunburst, and then I'll mod it with hotrails in the bridge - it will then do anything from Iron Maiden to SRV, [:)]

Hi Brokebryn - I know we've exchanged posts on another thread but just wanted to say really glad you are going to stay on the forum and join us from time to time. The experiences and pearls of wisdom from posters who have previously been in IVAs is invaluable to those still on their journey and those who are yet to embark - and we all still like to hear how you are getting on too!! Best wishes :-)
