Hi, I have just made my last payment 01 Sept 13 and would like to look into a first time buyers mortgage. My wife makes her last payment 01 Oct 13. Can you please advise me if this is possible at this time or would it be best to wait another year after completion. Also we have been thinking of using the help to buy scheme, is this possible after an IVA.

Hi Mortgages are possible post IVA We have two resident experts who can advise: Ryan and Shaun Vickery ( Look in the Ask an Expert section for contact details).
You will be best to wait until the IVA has fallen off your credit files.
However, although last payments have / are soon to be made, you are still in the IVA until the completion certificates are issued -- which could be some months hence, depending upon who you are with (Melanie Giles + a couple of months, Grant Thornton = a couple of years !! ). Has your PPI situation been addressed ?

Hopefully either Ryan or Shaun can help you ....they both come recommended ! Ryan I know has had significant success with other forum members, me included. Both deal with the whole of the market and have access to numerous lenders..
