Another hurdle overcome today receieved car insurance renewal and read in the small print about declaring any material fact that may void your insurance..so bit the bullet and called to advise we were in an iva would it effect our premium or offer of insurance.I fully expected that I would have to pay full year upfront but they said it was fine to pay montly and knocked £50 off the renewal quote which was cheaper than the comparrison sites. Great customer service.Happy days [:D]

Thank you for sharing that with us. I have stored the information away to pass on to any clients of mine who are struggling to get renewed cover. Well done to Hastings!

Great news, I'm with them as well and been a bit scared of the renewal and if they would not allow me to pay monthly. Thanks for sharing.

no worries Luigi we generally hear all the negatives so thought id share - I think it is worth ringing them all I said was that id entered in to an IVA they asked me what date noted it all on my account and then discounted the renewal price oh and forgot to mention reduced the voluntary excess to £0 - so was more than impressed. I think it is wise just to let them know as although it didn't specifically say anything about IVA or Bankruptcy it said you must declare any material fact so I am sure if they wanted to they could pull you on this clause if you had not declared as they don't actually tell you what a material fact means!!!. x

That great news - Hastings have come out cheapest for my renewal at £200 so I guess I'll be giving them a ring!.

Its always worth phoning rather than doing it online as they can often be more generous with discounts than the computer!

I changed to Direct Line this year and I went through Quidco and hopefully will get £75 cash back - always worth checking.
