Hello All,
Hope you are coping with the weather. I'm really pleased to say that yesterday Judith from DFD emailed me a scanned and signed copy of my Certificate of Completion! They are currently printing the cheques for creditors and the hard copy will then be in the post to me. Hopefully this will be soon.
But yes, after nearly 6 years and a few hassles with that dreadful EIF as well as a few cross emails and conversations at the end...it's finally here! Life starts again. It is really tough to get through it. The first year not so bad but by the mid - end you feel like its never going to finish. However, it DOES! So keep going everyone.
I'm sure there will be challenges/problems to navigate in the future but I'm glad I went this route. My creditors got 51.15p in the pound back. I learnt a lot about myself during this process and now have a much more cautious attitude to risks and consequences, even if something seems reasonable at the time. You never know how life changes - and mine (probably like yours) has changed completely in the last decade. You also get to know who are fair weather friends too.
Anyway, I now have to start cleaning up the credit file. Positives are I'm debt free, have a sense of dignity, starting a professional course and finally doing my driving lessons (at my age!!)
Keep going and thanks for the support. It's an invaluable forum!
