Do any of you have experience of becoming a student while in an IVA. I am in the process of trying to get a place as a full time PGCE student. The course will start september and finish in June 2014. This will then hopefully improve my long term prospects for a stable and reasonably well paid job.

I will get a combination of grants and loans in order to pay for the course and cover my living expenses during the course.

My question - can my IVA company stop me getting student loan finance and leaving my job??

how will you fund your IVA payments whilst studying? Student finance isn't a problem. I've completed my PGCE this year and due to graduate in November. I did it part-time over 2 years whilst in an IVA.

Your IVA cannot stop you doing anything that you want to, but you do need to consider the effects this change of career path may have on your IVA, and communicate your plans to your IP at an early stage.

Thanks both

I plan on reducing cost of rent, council tax etc in order to accomodate the reduction in income to live on student finance for the 9 months of the course.

I am very much stuck in a dead end job so this course can only help my situation.

Heres hoping it works out.

Good luck with your studies, it's a tough course but I managed it so I'm sure you can x
