Hello all it's been awhile.

Quick update IVA is now 3.5 years in and besides a PPI issue it's going OK. Well except in January when the DLA stop paying for our son, £400 pm gone. Just about coping with the minimum payment without having another creditors meeting.

Anyway can't dwell. Being offered a new job which includes a very large payrise but will now need the following:
Clothing allowance
Subsistence fund for when I work away or credit card or other option
Travel season ticket costs

I know the IVA won't allow the credit card (I think) even though this will be for work only and they will pay me back in a 6 week cycle.

So if no credit card do you think I will be able to open a new bank account, already have just a basic account with Natwest will they allow me another one?

So has anyone else had this situation? I am worried that the IVA will take all the additional slary has they may not be able to increase my allownaces as due to my sons disability we already allowed extra.

So any advice anyone can give before I contact my IP it would be much appreciated.

Martyn

Well done all round ....have you thought about a pre-paid credit card ? You could then negotiate with your IP the retention of the first couple of months increases to use as a buffer on the pre paid credit card allowing you to use it for work expenses and then keep it topped up from the reimbursements etc ....

Any additional expenditure should be offset against the change in salary so only the difference is considered for your iva ....

There is no reason why your IP would refuse you permission for a credit card. Your I&E would need redone to allow all the new expenditure and your payments could be increased by 50% of any additional surplus. Congratulations from me and speak to your IP.
