Hi we will b coming up to 12 monthes in June Dfd have sent us a letter in march saying we need to send all info back so they can decide weather to put it up thing is we can badly afford what we are paying now and our circumstances have changed in January I rang and told them I had to give up my job to b a carer to my disabled daughter and the lady said Iby what I get dla and carers I should pay more now I am petrified to send it back we have no equity in our house and a old car the stress is keeping me awake at night I am seriously considering bankruptcy that's if I can even do this please help xx

Hi Robson. The annual review is to check all is going well and to make sure you are making affordable payments, If your income goes up the payments might as well -- if income goes down it is possible the payments will also. Not doing the review will only cause the IVA to fail when it might not need to.

Do the review and put your case -- if it goes pear shaped after that, then is the time to worry about other options ... not now.

Thank u I thought that too until the lady on the phone said she thought I could pay more :0(

Many of the people who answer the phone in some companies are office droids who do not know the full picture of your own particular case and care not to admit to their lack of knowledge.

As Foggy says - send everything in, be truthful with your outgoings and hopefully you can work things out with DFD.

DLA paid to you should be entirely absorbed by the costs incurred in caring for yourself or your relative. This should not be taken into account for the purpose of calculating disposable income, unless you want it to be.
