hi my partner finished his iva 18 months ago, i was looking on the iva register and he is still on there and it says his iva is still current. He phoned his iva company and they have informed him that the creditors refuse to finish the iva until the ppi claim has been sorted out?? can they do this he has paid his iva in full? Also his iva company should of informed him of this ? any help would be appreciated.

Hi Stephanie. This is a recurring problem at the moment, with many completions being delayed due to the chasing of PPI. Some firms are varying terms to allow completion while PPI is ongoing ..... which firm is handling the IVA ?

Unfortunately, with the larger firms especially, communication seems to be a lost art and us mere mortals get very little feedback.

Until the IVA has been fully completed it will remain on there, as foggy points out its affecting quite a number of people in relation to the slow closures process due to outstanding PPI claims, VAT amends etc
