I have a joint account with my fiancée with nationwide which is a basic bank account with no overdraft. Nationwide without being asked have upgraded the account to a full flex account but with a zero overdraft.
Will this create a financial association to me for my partner and will this affect her credit rating?
I have finished my iva and waiting for cc.

Hi. If you had a joint account already you had already created a financial association. The upgrade will have no effect on whatever has already happened.

Foggy my understanding is that financial association only exist on accounts with credit facilities.

Not sure on that one. If the bank reports account activity to the CRA's then the association will be on record. Many "standard" accounts have no credit facility until one is agreed and put in place, yet are still recorded on CRA files.

The basic bank account is on the car files and has been for years but there's no financial link between us today.

FYI - the official line from equifax is that an association is only made if credit is applied for in joint names. Experian is less clear.
