Hi All
So I receive my renewal papers from Zurich and they have upped my home insurance policy from 46.26 per month to 57.36 per month!! a total of 688.32 per year
so I go on-line and get a quote for 295.31 per year from...............Zurich!! so when I ask why my renewal papers state a sum of 688.32 they inform me that my quote comes from a "new department" set up last December.
So I'm thinking great, save a few quid here, but when going through the new policy the lovely lady asks me if I have been declared bankrupt or in an IVA, so I tell the truth and say yes to the IVA, she then informs me that they cannot offer me monthly payments because of the IVA.
So now I'm stuck, I cannot afford a lump sum of 295.31 so I'll have to renew my existing policy and pay 688.32 at 57.36 per month, the reason I cna pay my existing policy over monthly payments is because it's been in place long before I entered into the IVA, but the newer, cheaper policy won't allow for monthly payments.
Surely if I missed a monthly payment they could just stop the policy? it's not like it's a loan...
