I have just been refused monthly car insurance payments from the Co Op is this because of my IVA?

Welcome to the forum....i am not personally aware of issues with monthly insurance payments. We used Tesco, Prudential and Sheilas Wheels during the IVA all with no issues of monthly payments........shop around and hopefully you will get something sorted.

I never had a problem switching my insurance until last year, when i shopped around i couldn`t find a pay monthly policy, so I had to stick to my existing. I`m with admiral and hubby is with the post office, both pay monthly. This may be because we were existing customers. It does seem like things have become more restricted.

Hi and welcome I'm with Liverpool Victoria and pay monthly so do shop around. It's unfair that us in IVA's are penalised for trying to do the right thing and get debt free. x

Disgraceful - it is not as if you are asking for credit.

Hi,

I was with Direct Line pre IVA then changed to Swiftcover 2 years ago both monthly payments without any difficulties. A few posters have had difficulties but managed eventually from what I recall.

Hope you get sorted!

I had problems with my car insurance this year, so stuck with Swinton - although did go to them as a new customer through the internet as the deal was better than the one they were offering me. THis is the first time of having problems as well so it was a bit of a shock!

I've just bought some building/content insurance and was asked.

Have you ever been bankrupt?
Have you received a CCJ in the past five years?

Plus the usual questions. I continued as I had neither been bankrupt or had a CCJ and it never mentioned an IVA. I'm assuming I did right?

You answered the questions honestly -- can't do any more than that :-)

That's how I looked at it, fully accepted and save £4.00 per month

Unless asked have you been or are you in an IVA then you are safe to say no to ccj and bankruptcy questions.
