We all go through all the emotions -- thankfully it won't last long before Mel and her team have got the ball well on the way.

thanks Foggy - when all said and done it took me a decade to get into this mess so I am going to have to try and relax abit over the next few weeks I havnt slept much over Christmas so tiredness is not helping the anxiety levels much!!

I remember that feeling well. No matter how much I spent, I always intended to pay it back and hardly ever missed a payment.
The problem was I had to start taking out pay day loans to make sure that money was in my account to cover the bills. But that first month when I'd changed my bank account and all those payments being missed made me feel so bad. I unplugged the phone for a month!
Nearly 12 months on, it's a memory of an uncontrolled time and something I shall not go back to.

It is perfectly natural to feel low and guilty about not making the payments, but do remember that you cannot afford go cover all of them and pay your household bills without relying on further borrowings - which will only make the position worse.
A New Year brings a new approach to your finances - and you need to trust your decision to get those debts under control once and for all. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help along the way.

The feelings you are having are natural with regards to having to not pay the creditors for a couple of months, and I remember the feelings well (I suffer panic attacks and this was a bad time!)
The new year has started and you have got a solution to help you all have a better future !!!

There should be no need to speak to Tina - especially if she is on leave. We can deal with the chat directly from the office - but could you send me a quick e-mail so that I can identify the real you!

You should be able to find Mel's contact details on the left hand side of the page under 'Ask Experts a Question' link.
The email function on the forum has been disabled for some considerable time now as people were received lots of spam emails.

Harrysmummy. Its a new year and, for you, a new start. Try not to get too down because of missed payments. Once Mel is fully on the case, your future will start to look a lot rosier.

we have only been in our iva a couple of months or so, it was very daunting/ scary at the beginning, also a feeling of not knowing if we had done the right thing ( father had passed away and the funeral was the day before the creditors meeting ) so we hadnt really looked into things properly with a clear head.. however, we now have almost no worries, we just put the iva to the back of our mind and get on with life without the constant worry of not having enough pennies to pay the debts, letters have now almost stopped from creditors, already feel like a weight has been lifted, i agree, dont get down over missed payments, you are doing this for your future

We've all been there harrysmummy, it's scarey and stressful but it will pass. I unplugged the phone nearly 6 years ago and haven't plugged it back in again. Family and friends use the mobile and our phone bill is minimal!
