Hi Guys

Now that I have completed my IVA where do I go from here? I am in a non permanent job working for less than what I am use too. I would like to save but find it impossible at the moment. What would you advise? Housing is the next on my agenda, not concentrating too much on my completion certificate as it will come eventually I hope. What would you advise in relation to renting/IVA/landlords.
As no matter that I have completed my IVA this will always be around my neck until that certificate arrives.

Well done on competing IVA. We got our IP to write us a letter confirming payments all made and now with closure team for the certificate to be issued....this helped letting agent / landlords etc.

Hi as far as iam aware
You can rent, but you will probably need a guarantor.

Some agents just require a large deposit up front - you may not need a guarantor.

Your IVA will be on your record for six years regardless of when the completion letter arrives.

Private landlords may be different to agents so worth considering maybe?

Niobe is right the IVA will remain on your credit files for 6 years from date of acceptance so after this time worth taking a look and getting them cleaned up. x

One of our posters found a landlord who had, himself, been in an IVA -- so you never know your luck !
