Apologies if this has been asked before.

I am 3 years into my IVA with cleardebt. I sent back my letter of authority for them to claim back any PPI and today received a letter from them saying they have appointed DRSP as claim handlers and who will come to my house for a meeting to get any credit agreements I may have ? Why do they need to come to my house? I have my Mother staying following an operation and she has no idea of my debt problems!
Also says to "speed up" the process I should print off a copy of my credit report from creditexpert. All these come with a stern warning that if I dont comply them I could fail my IVA.
I will call cleardebt tomorrow but feel so worried that I have to people come to my house

Hi,

I've not heard of that before at all. All of the others have been dealt with via the post and phone.

Do speak to Cleardebt tomorrow and explain your situation.

Do you know what the initials DRSP stand for? I've not heard of those before to do with PPI.

I tried that as well.

Wonder if any of the other posters have heard of them?

There should be no reason for anyone to call at your home if you don't want them to. I suspect that ClearDebt are trying to make the process as simple as possible for you, and many of their clients will probably welcome this approach. If this does not suit you, you ought to be able to send them the paperwork directly if you still have it to hand - althugh presumably a lot of this would already have been sent to them to assist them in preparing the original IVA proposal.

Hi Melanie thanks for answering
Yes they do have everything already. I guess i am just a bit panicked from the letter. I believe i had no choice as per the terms of the IVA for cleardebt to obtain ppi if there is any but I do find the letter quite stern.

If that is the case Mel, they should have it all to hand rather than sending people round to see them.

When my lot started the PPI process I wasn't asked to provide any further information or paperwork, so it can be done.

It is probably a standard letter sent to all clients Jan. I genuinely think that ClearDebt are trying to make this passage as smooth as possible for their clients - but the thought of someone strange turning up on the doorstop is a little scary for some people understandably.

I would not put anything past Cleardebt but this does not ring true.

Cleardebt are or at least were using Complaint Handling Service (CHS) and Simms Charmichael to “investigate” mis-sold PPI claims.

In my case there was no need for me to produce any documentation and no face to face meetings.

If in doubt then give Cleardebt a call.

I quite agree with you heretoday, a call to cleardebt should be able to sort this out once and for all.

Reesay i wouldn't let anyone that i didn't know into my home this can easily be done over the phone or by completing the documentation sent by either email or mail, please be safe. x

I received quite a stern letter as well from Cleardebt about this PPI nonsense. Really fed up with it now, (The PPI stuff, not Cleardebt lol). Getting letters, text messages and seeing it on the tv all the time, enough already!

Also In my letter it says these DRSP people will want to see any credit agreements I have in my possession (at my house which I am not happy with), surely they already have all that as I sent all the agreements (all originals I might add) to Cleardebt (and also first to Debtcare) years ago. Do they mean old agreements because I only had one and can't find that anywhere plus stupidly didn't make any copies of the agreements I sent out.
In a way I hope there is money that can come out of this to help my IVA but I thought I had left all the stress behind, so not happy having to go through it all again!

I may be wrong but I don't see how they can insist that they come to your house and for you to dig up copies of credit agreements etc.

These claims companies charge a lot of money for what should be a professional service, all they need from you are letters of authority, the rest they can find for themselves.
