What is it that payday companies dont get about an IVA??

They are still constantly phoning me saying they will only put my account on hold for a week until they receive paperwork about my IVA. Another one is that they know nothing of my IVA even though they have been sent paperwork for them to vote which some of them did. And then there is the classic of they dont recognise IVAs and i knew at the time they wouldnt enter into these things.

Of course i know they are bound by my IVA and there is no need to worry but they just dont give up!!!

Has anyone else had this?? They need stopping.

It's not just payday companies though! We had constant calls from Barclaycard and debt collector letters from Mercers - hubby told Barclaycard where to go (and it even made me blush!) and Mercers were brilliant when I rang them.

It does take some time to filter down the line and to be honest with you, some of the people who call are call centre workers who probably have no idea what an IVA is!

It will stop, just be happy that you are 100% covered by the IVA and there is nothing they can do. If it carries on demand their name and say you are reporting them for harrassment or do what I did - tell them to hang on while you answer the door then leave the phone on the side until they hang up.

Don't forget that these are just call centres and the info probably hasn't filtered down to them yet. Have a word with your IP and get them to phone the companies up.

You could refuse to answer the security questions, they can't carry on if you do or you could just ask them to hang on, put the phone down and walk away for a while. They'll soon get fed up and hang up.

Which particular company are currently harassing you StupidAgain? It sounds to me as if their call-centre staff could do with a little training so that they can understand more about the timescale of the IVA process.

Unfortunately this does happen - we had a similar problem earlier in the year between submitting our proposal and getting the IVA approved. I`m afraid it`s just a case of grin and bear it. And yes the people on the other end often had no idea at all what an IVA is.
Good news is it does stop eventually[:)]

Barclaycard were like that with us post IVA acceptance. My hubby ended up shouting and referring them to the Insolvency register surprisingly we heard nothing again. x

You can't unfortunately - it's only set up for 60 months.

Mercers aka Barclaycard, oh my days I forgot about them, they never gave up, till they HAD too.
Joking aside it takes a few weeks but it does stop.

On the 72 month thing, look at it as 60 months not 72, then the time will go quicker, when I get to month 54 and have to "Remortgage" I'm going to see the extra time as a new IVA and it's only 12 months long [:)]

Next phone call you get just say this
Ask for their name then ...
Say the below in an authorative tone

Take my home and or mobile phone number off your records immediately and do not call me again. If you call again I will make a formal complaint to your company under the data protection act of .... whatever year you want from 1980 to 1999
If they argue Just say you only need an address to contact me !
You will not get any more calls

You probably will!! I have tried that with various companies and they still insist on phoning.

I'm afraid I'm less than polite with them if they insist and, as I did last night with a silent call, the second word was off!!
