Hi there, i am currently with natwest but i am struggling with the lack of cash machines i can use with my card as i dont drive and live in a little village. My nearest cash machinge is a 20 minute bus ride away. I want to open a new one but would like it to be straight forward can anyone advise one that is simple and quick to open please?

Why can't you use your NatWest card in your local cash machines, Josu?

Six months ago they changed the step account to a basic account and will only work in Natwest and RBS cash machines. Its ridiculous!

I have a readycash account with Yorkshire Bank. Seems to work in all machin, is a debit card and online banking. Only drawback is you need to go intot he branch to open it. Can't be opened on line.

That is indeed ridiculous Josu! I would try the Co-op as I think they are still accepting people in IVAs.

You can open a basic account with the Co-op over the phone or in a branch

could you upgrade the account to the select account. I managed while in an IVA it's a non-fee paying account, worth a try online. x

Hi
The Co-op Cashminder account is very good
There are several pre paid cards on the market that offer DD facilities etc etc so it may be worth exploring this option

Good idea Andy - the Secure Trust and the ClearCash being two of them I could recommend.

We had no problems opening a Co op account, we changed to them from RBS a year ago when they restricted cash withdrawals to Tesco & RBS machines. Only draw back is online banking, not as up to date as RBS, takes a few days for transactions to show on your acccount, whereas every transaction with RBS showed up straight away, otherwise OK
