well just a wee update our iva has been accepted and i couldnt be happier its taken such a weight off our minds and just feels amazing to know we can live without debt ruling our lives ...
this forum has been great for helping us understand what happens next in this journey ...
one question id like to ask the experts is in relation to my mortgage id said before about how my ex husband is on the mortgage wi me as my husband and i didnt have affordability due to giving my ex money to keep the house so my question is now we have done the iva our affordability has definitely changed but i was wondering would they let us take on the mortgage now with being in the iva ??
kind regards daziedazie

Congratulations on starting your journey to a better financial future.
I am not an IP or an expert, but hopefully someone shall be alone soon to help with your enquiry.

Excellent news, congratulations!
I've no idea on the mortgage question. One of the experts will be along to help with that.

Hi - not 100% sure but I think you would find it hard to amend a mortgage whilst in an IVA.
No harm in asking though - but I would be prepared for your mortgage company to say no.

I doubt that your ex-husband will be allowed to be released from the mortgage, but no harm in asking.

Yes - but the mortgage company will see him remaining on the mortgage as a further bit of security for them in the event that you could default on the mortgage at some time in the future.
