In early August I made my final payment of my 63 month IVA. As you can imagine it was a major milestone which I was very pleased to reach. Since then however, nothing has moved further forward and I cant even get my case in the closure queue! This is a shame, as I am and always have been a Grant Thornton 'customer', so there shouldnt be anything all that complex to deal with. All reviews have gone smoothly, I've paid everything requested and closure should really be a formality.
PPI has obviously got in the way of that. Despite never having taken it out, I got the usual 'you're being forced to make a claim' type letter from them - just a couple of weeks before my final payment. Having read on here you can sign a disclosure form to circumvent this procedure (as I hadnt taken it out, I'm more than happy to sign something to say I'll never make a claim) I duly requested this and was told a form would be in the post.
10 weeks later, I still have had no such form. On top of that, I expected at least for them to contact me after my final payment to tell me to cancel my standing order, and also to arrange the 'final review' - to check my payslips between the last review (which was done in Apr) and my final payment (August). At least then my 'part' of the IVA would be concluded, and my case could goto the closure team.
So, has any of this happened? Nope. Basically nothing has happened in the 10 weeks since my final payment was made. I had to contact them at least twice just to confirm I could cancel my standing order. And despite repeated requests, and subsequent promises that the PPI no claim form would be on its way and the final review conducted, neither has actually happened.
So - I'd like to ask if other GT customers that have finished their monthly payments recently A) have they requested and received the PPI form that you can sign and return to say you didnt have PPI and wont attempt to claim it in the future and B) have they had a final review actually take place and how long that took?
It seems to me that there is a new ploy to reduce closure backlogs and thats to actually prevent cases getting to the closure team in the first place! And of course GT's own slant on this is its 6 months to close the case - once it gets to the closure team! So if it takes 6 months to get there, thats actually 12 months. So far, it looks like I'm guaranteed a 9 month wait at the very least - and thats presuming my 'final rewiew' might actually happen in the coming weeks!
