Why is there so much confusion with PPI, and why dont IP's get it sorted. People in current IVA and worse those poor people who has completed and years later being hasselled about it. worse still its ok for banks to rip off people and fudge interest rate and there financial professionals but its down to banks tax payers had to bail them out?? my rant over

It's not up to IP's to 'get it sorted' as you put it, they're as much in the dark as everyone else as PPI reclaiming is such a recent thing that people reclaiming who have closed IVA's have not gone to court to set a precendent so noone really knows what the legal angle is on this one and I guess until a case goes to court noone will either. This is not the IP's job, all they are there to do is to ensure the IVA is adhered to and the debtor repays as much as they can afford.

Hi deeps227

Some ip's eg melanie giles, are dealing with quickly and ensuring closures are not delayed, others appear to be under resourced and ppi is just adding to the delay

Unfortunately ppi is a fairly new animal that as I understand it, there has been no legislative update for in relation to ivas. Furthermore, there appears to be differing legal opinions as to how ppi should be dealt with and obviously this wasnt around when the majority of ivas where arranged

I guess i was a bit harsh regarding Ip's. I guess companies are to quick to send the PPI claims forms out and get frustrated when your IP cant answer questions about claims. However i wasnt harsh enough regarding the banks who ripped off people in the first place and to rub salt into wounds get the compensation back.

Don't worry deeps227

We all feel the need to let of steam occasionally

It's unfortunate that PPI has appeared from nowhere and caused complications. I only hope there's nothing else going to appear from nowhere sometime in the future. Remember this time 2 yrs ago no one had heard of PPI refunds so god only knows what the future may hold ?

Most of the key IPs who are heavily involved in personal insolvency - such as myself - are doing a huge amount behind the scenes, takimg expensive legal advice in an attempt to "sort it". Please don't think that we are sitting back and allowing this to become a big mess around us.

i know its wrong to tarnish those with the same brush who are doing whats right. there are some, like yourself who give help and advise. so no way did i mean offense to your good self or other IPs on here

As i've said many times before on this forum Melanie, it is without doubt that you are one of the top IP's and it shows. I know now that if i had been one of your clients, my rants would have been nil lol. Please carry on the work you do it is very much appreciated not only by those lucky enough to be your clients but also those of us that sadly aren't.
