Spoke to National Debtline, Melanie and Kelly this morning who all said open a new non connected bank account so going to sort it tomorrow (thanks Melanie / Kelly for listening to me this morning as Im sure you have to say the same things day in day out and listen to the same questions day in day out... you have helped me a lot already - cheers ladies)

Anyways the question is if I went IVA will my new bank have to be informed by myself or the IP / court ?

I probably asked this in our conversation but so much to take in [:(]

I may be wrong and no doubt an expert will come along soon but I thought you had to notify anyone you had a financial dealing with. In my case I have my own business and I was told I had to tell all my suppliers, even though I owed them nothing at the time, problem with this is that some suppliers can close accounts because of it..

You don't need to notify your new bank.

Nick, I believe you do in BR, but not in an IVA.

Your bank will not be told at all. Any secured lender is informed but that's all.

With BR the OR can freeze the account but in reality they rarely do.

They usually state that they have no interest in the account.
