I am in an IVA and will be getting a tax rebate of approx £2,500.00, does this all have to go in the IVA?

Hi and welcome to the forum. I would discuss this with your IP ast this coudl be a windfall and payabe to the IVA. Is the tax rebate due from before you commenced the IVA?

Delbert welcome to the forum tax rebates are seen as windfalls you need to speak to IP to see how much you will have to pay into your IVA

It does depend as the others say. We have had one poster who has been able to keep all of his but best speak to your IP as they are the best ones to advise.

I've recently been in a similar situation getting a tax rebate from 2005- 2006 (way before my IVA) of just under 3k. I wasn't expecting to keep any of it as its clearly a windfall, but after a quick chat with my provider they confirmed it was all required, but we talked about using some of the rebate to complete some car repairs that I wouldn't be able to fund otherwise.
The way I look at it is, as long as its all agreed, it will be like someone else paying to mend my car for me so its all up side. As the other posters have said talk to your IP and think about any large repair bills that you may have put to one side as something that needs to be done, but just cant because of money, you may find your IP can then use their discretion for you to use some of the funds to get repair work completed.

I hope you get to make some repairs! There's always something waiting for a spare bit of cash when you're in an iva! x
