Evening All.
I took the opportunity to access my credit report via Noddle tonight.
I had 3 defaults still showing as current.
On the Noddle site there was a facility to complain/report items that were incorrect, which i did, amending the default dates to the date of our iva.
Has anyone else done this?
Just wondering what happens next.

They will email you back confirmation. Basically they contact the lender who reviews the request then changes the data. Once this is done you get an email, it can take up to 28 days but sometimes sooner. You need to do it for all three agencies though and check the data that they hold.

To be honest I had nothing but trouble getting onto the site. Registration was a nightmare so I gave up dejected and worked on the theory that I would deal with it when my IVA finished as what was on it was a foregone conclusion.

Thanks Mattyboy, only done Noddle so far because it's free.
Is there a facility to do that with all the cra's?

Yes, I challenged information on Noddle and found the other CRAs sometimes updated automatically as the lender corrected the record but you have to check this. Unfortunately though you need to pay for the other two, either get the free month trial and cancel within 30 days for both Equifax and Experian or order the one off £2 statutory reports. Experian and Equifax are the biggest CRAs so it is most important they are updated correctly.

All will have the report an error link on their reports. I found reporting errors directly to the CRAs was far quicker than dealing with the lenders who really have no interest in correcting the data.

OT, I reported incorrect default dates to Noddle, and had a response the next day telling me to take it up directly with creditors....

HI OT
I had the same email with Noddle, regarding default dates. They told me also to take it up with the creditors directly as they just act on info provided

I think you do usually have to take it up with the creditors otherwise, there is every chance that if they're not informed they'll keep wacking defaults on there.

Can I ask - you know the little circles you get for each month - is it supposed to show the Default each month and will it drop off 6 years from the first one or from the last one? I currently have little red default circles from April 2009.

They should drop off each month but of course the last ones will remain on until six years after the date until six years from the date it went on which is why it is important to clear up your credit record once you've finished.

Hi Seventh
The little red default circles dont really mean anything on Noddle, its the 'date of default' line that matters.
I had the little red circles on my accounts right up until last last month and then suddenly the accounts totally disappeared from my credit record because the six years from the 'date of default' had expired.
