finished my iva on 23rd-may(last payment)was told it would take a week for the payment to go through the system to clear and then was told twice by different operators @ f j it would take up to 4 weeks for the completion documentation to come over a week ago.i phone up last night as its been 4 weeks mark asked about the completion documentation and was told it would now take six-eight weeks
and thats the norm for fj i was told ok.
and then

fj op said to me why do you want it for.

me : i was told twice that the completion paper work would take up to 4 weeks and i just want it and get on with my life.

fj:then said why do you want it for.
me :can i speak to someone above you please?

fj they only going to tell you the same
me:can i speak to someone above you please?
after a long wait

fj: hello complaints am so so

me :explained what i was told on the two other accounts of phoneing.

fj:you was miss informed it can take up to 6-8 weeks
and i will have a word with the op's who told you 4 weeks.

and again

fj:why do you want completion form for

i can understand some things can take time. but when you told twice its upto 4weeks and then get told 6-8 weeks and get asked a silly question twice WHY DO YOU WANT IT FOR.
i haven't had a good laugh for a good while but last night made my night[:D][:D]

oh dear. I think in comparison to some companies closing that's fairly quick but I agree if you're told a timescale then they should try within their powers to stick with it.

Hi

You just want it closed so that you can draw a line and move on.

Have you been asked to assist in a PPI claim ?

You do not want to be bound by the IVA and you want your name removed from the register. Those are reasonable reasons to want your IVA closed.

What a crazy question! you've earnt it and now you want to close that chapter of your life and move on knowing you are 100% certified debt free. Plonkers!

For someone who has dedicated the last five years of their lives - and their disposable income! - to successfully completing an IVA, regardless of whether the IP and their staff believe the Completion Certificate is meaninless is not relevant. The psychologican effect of having that piece of paper in your hands, and seeing your name removed from the Insolvency Register are enormous. Keep at them and I am sure it will be provided very shortly.

It shows a remarkable lack of empathy with their clients, which in itself is disturbing for someone who has your life in their hands for five or six years.

The certificate truly shows and means your life can start again....until the you are never sure what may happen!

I think Mel has hit it right on the head there, the psychological benefits must be huge.

Exactly Rod, that piece of all important paper means the difference between moving on and being stuck in limbo! I hate it when i get paid lip service from people who obviously have no idea what it is like to live the life of an IVA, watching every penny, making sure you don't overspend, worrying about increasing bills etc and worse if your IVA fails for any reason. I'm not too far away from being in this situation and am counting the months in all honesty although i know from reading the threads on the forum that in reality my door won't reaally be closed until the end of the year, possibly going into next, what a thought!

I think Andy should write another book, this time on silly things call centre staff have said to those of us in insolvencies!!!

It would win prizes I am sure.

That made me chuckle! Not good but reminds me of the last 8 weeks constantly mithering declan due to the "what do you want it for" question asked by call staff . Daft, but it does get asked...a lot!
