Hi,

Can anyone help please. I'm still waiting for my Completion Certificate from GT. It's been 7 months since final payment. I am in contact with the closures team & my case is making good progress. They update me via email every 2 weeks.Next update due 14th June. Hopefully not too long now before we receive it.

My question is it's approaching 6 years since our IVA started 13th June to be exact. Is there anything I can do regarding defaults etc even if we havn't got our CC yet.

Can someone please explain the proceedure?

Many thanks

You'll need to wait until you get that letter. Once you do then send it off to the data controller for each creditor that has defaulted you after the date of IVA acceptance, they then have to remove those defaults.

Until then your IVA will still be on the register and I believe it will still show as live on your credit record but I do stand to be corrected on that one.

Are there any template letters on this site for people to use in these situations. It would be really helpful for people to be able to use them as we don't all know the correct terminology to use. Just a suggestion?

TheMatrix has done one - if you search the site you should find it.

Yes, you can get the default dates amended to the start date of your IVA without a certificate of completion.

Defaults drop off 6 years from when they were registered. You won't be able to get them marked as satisfied and they will have outstanding balances.

Also the IVA record will remain until *both* your IVA is marked as completed and it's been 6 years.

You can adapt the letter in this thread accordingly: http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31963 and get more tips here http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=183

Hi Matrix,

Thanks for the information. Just another question (Sorry)
Are there 2 or 3 main credit agencies? Would I have to get my credit report from them to check & ensure the date of any defaults are not after the 13th June 2006 (in my case).
As it's approaching the 13th anyway would it be best to wait & see if any drop off.
Once our CC arrives who notifys the agencies so as to ammend any defaults to satisfied & zero outstanding.

Sorry to be a pain with all the questions. I just want to get prepared ready to move on (Hopefully soon)

Thanks again

Thanks plasticdaft,

Going to have a look now. Suppose I should have looked before now as if any dates are incorrect I could have got them corrected.

As you are approaching the 13th June I'd go for the straight deletion approach as the default is 6 years rather than asking them to amend the default date. Just amend to suite your circumstances, it's a template only.

You need to check all three Credit Reference Agencies, sometimes they can be different other times they are the same but all could potentially need amending.

I should check on www.noddle.co.uk (which really is call credit) you'll probably find all the defaults gone on there as they delete about a week ahead of time. It will give you an indication as to what needs amending. You should also check www.experian.co.uk and www.equifax.co.uk
